I was wondering about stroking my 88'TC 2.3t to a 2.5T. Since I'm going to tear the turbo motor apart anyways, would this help or hurt to stroke it out to a 2.5 usuing a ranger crank and bearing spacers ( I think you need spacers or what ever)? What would I expect this would add to a turbo motor ( T-3) or take away from it? Any opinions or any one who has done this?

Thanks

Turboford.org has more detailed info, but results show that breathing and efficiency mods such as porting, cam, intercooler, exhaust are more cost effective than .2L of displacement.
Example, TF member Greg O'brien is building a drag car and is expecting to make well over 400 horsepower and is still using a standard stroke 2.3.

TF is a great place and they pretty much say the same thing and its porting the head. Also porting the E6 was highly recommended as well. I just thought I would see if anyone has done these mods plus stroking it out also.

Thanks

Basically figure out roughly how much horsepower you expect to make and then divide that by the cubic inches. Now take the number representing hp per cubic inch and multiply that by the number of cubes for the 2.5L

2.3L - 140CID
2.5L - 151CID

So lets say a 2.3L turbo makes 200hp. That would be 1.428hp per cubic inch

That would mean a 2.5L version would make about 215.628 hp.

Now a 300hp 2.3L would mean the same motor would make 323.442hp

This is just an example and doesnt take into account other factors like drag, volumetric effeciency, etc.
