I was just curious if there was any problem running like this? Right now I have a 2.5" X-pipe with dumped mufflers and I don't want the dumps anymore. Rather than spending money on some new tails, I think I still have my stock tails sitting around somewhere and was wondering if I could put those on? Would this cause any problems? I have a Dr. Gas x-pipe(no cats) and Hooker aerochamber mufflers. Would running 2.25" tails cause any issues?

Just make sure it is welded up correctly. It might increase your low end torque a little if your car is pretty much stock.

No problems at all and as stated above, should help your low end a tad.

i run 1 5/8 LT's.. BBK 2.5 X.. and stock tails with 40 flows.. it seems to flow just fine. If it had a problem with the tailpipes i'd have noticed by now. But seems to work happily.. it probably added a slight back pressure which you need some

Anyone know where I can get the "over the axle" portion of the exhaust system? Or is this something I will have to have a shop fabricate for me? I think the problem I'm gonna have is some shops won't work on exhaust systems that don't have cats. Is there anywhere I can get just that portion of the exhaust?

the other thing that will do is quiet the exhaust a little. i know a fellow that did a 3 inch exhaust into a 2 1/2 inch tail pipe and it quietened his down which was a good thing.

That's basically why I'm adding the tails. The dumps were cool at first, but now they are just annoying. I can't hear anything inside the car. It's cool to pull up next to someone or drive by people and have them look to see what's making that rumble, but I can't stand the inside noise and the drone anymore. I'd rather hear my music than my exhaust these days. I have the 3:08 rear gear so driving down the highway in 5th gear in right smack in the middle of the drone zone.

haha! Well my exhaust as it is now is too loud for me. It wouldn't be bad if it wasn't so loud inside the car. I don't mind it being loud for everyone else. But when it's too loud inside the car I have to do something. It drives me crazy.

I've got a stereo system already, but I still can't hear well going down the hwy at 55-60mph due to being right in the drone zone.
