So i've definitely made up my mind about getting a two step limiter after my most recent trip to the track. I only hooked well once. Every other time was an epic fail. I either do a John Force burnout through 1st or I bog down. My dilemma is this: I am very likely getting an SCT x-cal 3 in about a month. I know that these tuners have a built in 2 step function I can use. However, I heard that this 2 step cuts fuel and not spark which can be dangerous for my engine because it will run it lean. I know the MSD Launch Master is designed to cut the spark so it would be great, but i don't want to drop an extra $200 if the 2 step on the SCT will be safe to run. I just need to know if my baby will be ok if i run the SCT's 2 step.
Somebody help me out please. Thanks in advance.

No, using the SCT's built-in 2 step is not safe, for the reasons you mentioned. You also have to cut the wire that shuts off the cruise when you hit the clutch in order to use it.

Here's my install write-up.
