Didn’t do the extra disk. Got it all apart, was covered in gear oil and friction mod trying to figure out how it went together as it was too thick. Rear about some guys grinding the material off the extra disk. Got frustrated I didn’t research this enough and just put it together the OEM way and got it back together.

If it was the fox I would have stopped and researched, but a bone stock convertible cruiser? I just did the standard method and called it a day. Wasn’t my original plan but in the heat of the moment, words were said and I did what I did

Was warm enough to go for a test drive, but cold enough my summer tires didn’t grab so was easy to test out the limited slip and confirm it’s working nicely.

Not sure if any more drives this year. I keep saying that and sneaking out one more time, but it’s covered and not really anything to do to it now.

Edit: unless I grab a styling bar this winter. Would like to change the top to a black top, but not top of my list considering top is always down anyway.

It's not a crime to use a more worn disk from the old pack.

So finally got time to pull the door panel off and investigate the loose drives window that over extends.

As suspected, the bottom front bracket had come undone from the drivers door glass

Same exact issue on my 98 I had. I actually still have the old window. I tried using adhesive and it worked for a day or two and came right back off. Ended up giving the car to my son and he bought a new window. I'm sure there's a specific type of adhesive to use, I am not sure what that is though.

I ended up buying the LMR window reinforcement kit. Will give this a shot and see how it turns out

Front bracket pretty much fell off.

Bolted the LMR bracket on and reinstalled it. Pretty easy. Window works nicely now!

Gotta pick up some rivets for some of the items I removed for access. Door panel back together and another thing off the list.

They give you enough for both sides but I’m just going to do the one here

It amazes me that engineers can design an entire car, yet they the bed on simple things like windows that could use an extra piece of metal to keep from falling apart. Least you got it figured out. My son traded the 98 I gave him for a damned dirt bike. If I ever find it I'm gonna get it back. Now I know how to fix the windows properly when that day comes. Good luck with the tiny screws and magnetic screwdrivers and whatnot. Let us know how that goes.

Yup. Those engineers sure do suck.

The fix wasn't bad at all. Didn't use a magnetic screwdriver at all. My regular one held them fine. Had no issue getting the screws in. Honestly the hardest part was drilling out the rivet for the door handle so I could get access to screw holes. But it took me all of 5-10 mins to install the bracket.

I'd have the door back together but I can't seem to find my 1/4" rivets so have to wait for some. But this checks off a box for me because this door always had a loose rattle and now it's gone.

Car back together.

Not much to do this winter now. Haven't decided if i will change the lower control arms in the back. Only original part of the suspension left. I inspected the bushings and they look fine. The only OE replacements on the market are Dorman's for $150 each. For $300 i might as well buy some MM sport arms but i'm conflicted because I don't want to put any stiffer bushings on this car.

Last mod is a styling bar. I can't decide if i want to put a parchment one on, or a dark charcoal or black bar on. I've seen pics of them all and they all look good. I'm leaning black.

First appearance of the year. I really think I want to get a styling bar for this car.

Figure I drive this to work in the AM.

I was hoping to install one over the winter, but got too wrapped up trying to fix the fuel issue on my fox and ran out of time.

So the more i drive this car the more I like it, and the thought of selling it goes out the window. Plus the market is crap anyway for convertibles it seems.

One thing i've disliked is the tan interior and top. Top is easy to hide when i fold it down and put the boot on, but can't get past the interior.

It's clean as hell now, but I kinda really want dark charcoal. One benefit of the tan is it's cooler on a hot day.

But would you pull a pretty mint Parchment interior to try and put together charcoal?

Only if you change the top also. Hiding it sounds good but it’s going to bother you. Therefore if you do this, go into it knowing your changing the top also or don’t do it at all.
Just my .02 cents.

Top will get changed too. I just feel bad because it’s brand new. But i've already picked out out and was debating doing it myself over the winter.

Essentially I want a triple black GT vert

Might pull the stock exhaust off too and stick some flowmasters on it.

I personally think all you need to do is the front seats in a dark charcoal/black. Like a subtle Corbeau seat or something not too race-y. Then you have the contrast between the dash, carpet, shifter, etc. that ties into the interior.

That interior is beautiful. You should see the interior on my fox. Looks like someone rolled up a wet newspaper and then tried to flatten it back out after it dried.
