My sons 2000GT blew the oil out from the base seal area on the oil filter. We put a new one on to see what would happen and it did it again 20 seconds after start up. Noone I have talked to can explain this type of failure. The engine is probably trashed cause he didn't know this was going on driving down the road. Just want to know if this has happened to anyone else.

Did you just change the oil?? Did the gasket from the old oil filter get stuck to the block and you ended up with a double gasket??

That's about the only thing that I know of that could be remotely close to what your doing?

You more than likely double stacked the oil filter gasket. Pretty common mistake, and can easily be overlooked when the gasket is not still attached to the old filter.
I make it a habbit to use the old filter to lube the gasket on the new filter, by rubbing the two gaskets together. This insures I check to see that the old gasket is not still attached to the black, and that I have lubed the new one.

+4. This just happened to me recently as well. Take a look at the old oil filter that you took off, bet the old gasket isn't there anymore. I was multitasking and didn't check this time - and I have check all the time prior. Typical....
