Have same problem with 2001 GT. 43K miles. Thorough cleaning of MAF helped a LOT.. Have new MAF waiting to go in once I confirm that cleaning did not fix it.. I have changed fuel filter, all injectors, all coils.Still there when hot. After cleaning MAF it is much better. Will post when it's FIXED.

Cleaning the MAF did it. Took it out at CMP (Carolinas Motorsport Park) this weekend and it's back to normal. Great smooth acceleration in 4th around the whole track.
Consider it FIXED. USED CRC Maf SENSOR cleaner on the MAF after removal from car.

My 2001 3.8 V6 started experiencing the same symptoms few days ago. Already changed plugs, wires, MAF, air filter ECT... Has me scratching my head... Next step replacing throttle body sensor to see if it's the culprit.
