I am planning on doing a five lug swap. I need to know if the wheels from a 2001 GT will fit on a 5.0 1991 fox if I do the cheap 5 lug conversion? By Cheap I mean the Linocln rotors with the ranger axles and drums? Please let me know I can pick up a set of wheels really cheap and I do not want to break my wallet doing the 5 lug swap. Thanks for all of your help. Travis

im not a tech but when i swaped from 4 to 5, i put svt rims with street slicks i forgot what year cobra they came off of i think it was a97 but they were 17"s and i had to get the Rear fenders curled under im pritty sure 2001's are 17" and unless you plan on using low profiles you'll have to curl the rear to avoid rubbing.. but mine lowerd to so that might help... hope it does!

yes the wheels will fit with 245/45/17 tires you shouldnt have to modify your fenders unless your car is lowered. the wheels you mentioned are 17 x 8 like mine. the center caps for GT wheels will NOT fit the front, only the rear. youll need some silver spray paint for the rotors

That is right. I saw a local guy with those wheels on a GT and he cut holes in the front center caps to let the dust caps stick through. Looked like trash to me, but hey, he made them fit!

I would plan on going with SN95 front brakes and spindle at some point if you did get the wheels.

I must be the only one that hates those wheels. That's why i got my GT with bullitts.

The issue with the front rotors and the 2001 GT wheels is the front center caps as stated. He didn't say what wheels they are, but if they are the Deluxe model wheels then they will mount but no center cap unless you cut a hole for the dust cap to poke through.

If they are the premium mode wheels (bullitts) then the center cap won't work at all

2001 GT rims on a fox

This might sound dumb, but can't the center cap be modified so it does not hit? what about not running a dust cap. It should be alright for a while until I scrape up the cash for the SN95 Swap. Let me know if anyone has tried this. Thanks Travis

I am not into those wheels either.

If you want cheap wheels, go for the 1999 cobra wheels for $89 ea. from Diversified. Factory wheels at a great price! The price is so good, I think I will get another set for open track events with Yoko A032's on 'em.

No. The dust cap and the Fox spindle and cotter pin beneath it stick out a good 3/4" too much to fit under the center cap on those wheels. Just removing the dust cap would not give you any additional room. There is no way to mount them with center caps on the cheap swap rotors unless you use a pretty thick spacer, and then you get into potential fender clearance problems and have to replace the studs with longer ones. That is the reason you should change to SN95 fronts to properly mount the 96+ 17" GT and 98+ Cobra wheels.

You can check around for 94+ parts on www.car-part.com I've found complete front setups on there as cheap as $125 for spindles, rotors and calipers plus shipping. You have to look each part up separately. Most of the places will ship parts too. One guy on here found the complete front setup from a 95 for under $120 including shipping on there!

Do you have access to the wheels?

Buy an SVO rotor at a parts store and go test fit them. You can see if they will fit the wheels or how much room the center cap has
