Hi All!

Turned 18 recently & got myself a 2001 V-6....Love it!

Just curious if I can fix keyless entry. Tried at the dealership, but was rejected saying that my car doesn't have the program that would allow a remote keyless entry to be installed.

All suggestions ???????????

Thanks much

Sounds like BS to me.
I was under the impression all Mustangs had keyless entry standard in 2001.

Either way, if the dealer doesn't want your money, then forget them.

My roommate installed a keyless entry system on his '97 Escort, and I just had a Matrix alarm with keyless entry and remote start installed on my 2001(making my stock remotes useless).
Basically all you need is a car with power locks, then you can go pick out any aftermarket keyless entry system you want.

Thank You!

Not trying to make someone else do my work, but any suggestions on which one's are good and the place I can get them. Thanks again...

it is std in all stangs 99+
What you do to program it is you sit down in the driers seat, and put the key in. turn from off to on (right before the starter position) 7-10 times, then your doors will lock and unlock. at the time when they do that stop turning the key, leave it on, then you press lock and unlock on all the remotes you want to program in.

That simple. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2476043043&ssPageName=MERC_VI

any ford vehicle remote will work. they say specific modles, but as long as they look like that, it'll work on your car. The dealership wants $50/ea for them, lots cheaper online.
