2001 Saleen Cobra

I'm looking at getting rid of the GT and getting another pony. Anyway I came across a single owner 2001 Cobra with only 30k miles. He says that it is all original. What threw me off is that it has a Saleen body kit and light bar (convertible). It has a Cobra interior and a 4v engine. At first I thought it was just a saleen body kit but after a little research I noticed that saleen actually did make a cobra saleen and only 6 convertibles were made in 2001. It also has the Saleen production number on the front bumper. I haven't seen inside of it to see if is has the Saleen authentication plaque. Could off this be true? Thanks for any input.

Most likely just has a Saleen kit on it but, you never know. How much is he asking?

If you are really interested in the car get the vin number from the guy and call saleen up and see if they have any records. If the car is actually a saleen cobra then there would be a record of it somewhere.

They did make several 2001 Mustang Cobra "Saleens," but do your research first to confirm that it is an authentic Saleen...
