Hi Guys and Girls,
Could someome help me please. I have a 2001 Cobra Convertable with 23,000 miles from new on the clock. I get the service done every six months even though I hardly drive the car. Tuning, I normally leave to the Dealership.
The idle does not seem so smooth lately. It idles OK but a little uneven. Should I have the car Dyno tuned or could someone maybe enliten me on hand held tuners?
Hope you can help.
Thanks.

Is the idle roughness a recent development?

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with a "dyno tune". Your car has low miles but is nine years old and thus may be in need of some maintenance. When was the last time the front O2 sensors were changed? Even though the miles are low, the time is long and the sensors may have deposits on them. Check under the hood for dry-rot and cracking on vacuum lines. Clean the MAF with a dedicated aerosol cleaner. Check the plugs and condition of the COP boots if necessary.

Agreed , need to check the basics first , if its not driven much , may be simple carbon build up , or cracked vacuum line .

Where are you located ?

Thanks guys for your help. I will take your suggestions to my local dealer and see if he can check these items. I am in South Australia so I should say Gidday, owya goin. Just for your knowledge we are right hand drivers over here. To convert a current Mustang to right hand drive costs close to $40,000. To have any Mustang is a pleasure and a point of difference in Australia. Current Mustangs of varying models are often offered on the market at $100,000 plus. The only other problem I have is the seat belt warning chime comes on at what seems a randon time. I have purchased a set of workshop manuals and have asked this question before on the net on how to stop it chiming. I have followed the sequence of the Hokie Pokie many times often with variation. The next time I try this I may sit in someone elses car and follow the door closing etc sequence and see if it fixes my car at the same time. Just joking. Has any one come up with something new to stop this chime without effecting saftey issues. Thank you very much for your help.

squirt crazy glue in the air hole of the chime. cuz if you disconnect it your lite will stay on all the time. set in the passenger seat (aus. side which wouldve been us dr side before conversion)and do the thing to stop seat belt chime/light.
