2001 V6 Clutch/TOB issues

So my 01 started making an awful screeching tonight (yeah, I know....it's been going on about a week, didn't just start tonight ) whenever I shifted, and also did it when I wasn't shifting. I've been told to check into the TOB and also the clutch.....any other thoughts? This went from mild to pretty severe, pretty quickly, and I know I don't need to drive it unless absolutely necessary - any input is welcome. Thanks.
