I'm new to this forum and hope that this is allowed but just wanted to pass this on in hopes to help the next guy that might have the same type of issue. Just this morning my dad's car would turn over and over but never would start. Like it wasn't getting any fuel. It was 14 degrees this morning so dad thought that it was just cold and really didn't want to mess with it but that didn't sound like it was the issue to me. After reading up about the issue, and checking fuses, wires and everything else people suggested I ran across a post on here from years ago where someone had mentioned checking the schrader valve. My dad's car is an 02 but the guy that he bought it from said it had an 03 motor. Some people were saying that year doesn't have that valve but i looked anyway, not being completely sure of the motor setup in his car. Sure enough it was there, and and after pressing the valve pin in, that look just like the one on a tire valve stem and cranking the engine over at the same time it blew out quite a bit of air then finally the fuel came blowing out of it and it fired right up. He was ready to just take it to the shop and have them look at it, but it was really just that easy of a fix. BTW I tried listening for the fuel pump to turn on with the key being turned on and off and I couldn't hear it so don't jump to conclusions and start throwing money at it thinking it's bad. Glad we didn't but that's what first led to us to believe that the pump was bad.

That is not normal. I hope you did fix it but there is obviously a problem. So you went to the back of the car and had your Dad try to energize the fuel pump and you could not hear it, never seen that. Did the temperature get warmer as you did the troubleshooting and then it worked?

I put my ear up to the driver side wheel well and couldn't hear anything but that's all I did. I might not have been listening in the right place. From the time we started messing with his car until we got it started was about 20 minutes and no it didn't get warmer by more than a degree or two
