Are these real chrome wheels are just chrome-clad? Reason I ask is I stopped at a dealership a few weeks ago and just casually looked at a new 04 Cobra with the chromed wheels. However, upon closer inspection I noticed that the inside of the wheel looked like it was just aluminum and the chrome felt like it might be cladding. I may be wrong as I didn't get a long examination but something didn't look exactly right about the wheel.

I just got some saleen style 18's, and I believe I know what you are asking about. The fronts look chrome, but the insides look more machined? and as far as I know chromeing is just a plating that goes over the stock metal, so I would assume my triple chrome plated wheels have been dipped three times, to apply three layers of chrome for rust prevention? I could be wrong

It really depends on the type of rims (as you are both correct, but each of you are talking about different types of chrome rims). I believe that the 03/04 cobra rims are triple chrome plated, as having them solid chrome would have cost Ford more $

Triple plating is the process of any quality chrome item. Triple plating is not 3 layers of chrome. it is a Copper dip, a Nickle dip, then a Chrome dip... all chrome is a plating process.
