Hi,

I have a 2003 Cobra convert. with a minor rear diff leak. The leak is around the
rear housing seal. It looks like I need to remove the rear cover and re-RTV it.
I need rear cover bolt torque values please.

Also, anyone have any tips on this job? They would be much appreciated. Where's
the best place to jack this up so I can then put jack stands underneath it? There
doesn't seem to be lots of good places.

Best replacement rear diff fluid to use?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure on ther torque values, sorry.
I can tell you a leaking rear diff on the 03/04 is a common problem. 99 time out of 100 it's due to nothing more than TORQUE! With the torque brace bolted directly to the rear cover it adds extra stress on the thin cover cuasing it to leak. You want to make sure you use the proper type of RTV on the cover... it needs to be both oil-resistant and flexible.

I have an 04 Cobra with 6,500 miles. I noticed it is damp at the seam. It's not dripping on the ground. I have a Billet Flow diff brace I'll be installing soon. That should prevent the cover from cracking/flexing.

Laser SVT just gobbed RTV all along the bottom of the pig and cover. It doesn't look pretty, but it stopped his leak.
