Found a 2003 Z06 with 19,600 miles for $31,000. I would definitely have to get rid of my 04 GT Vert in order to buy the Vette.

Should I or shouldn't I? What would you do?

Is it a DD? do you ever use your 4 seats? Do you like having mod parts that are dirt cheap? Do you ever plan to get into a crash? Do you enjoy having a trunk?
If any of those are answered yes Id take a long hard think about it first
If all are no then yeah it's an awsome car, but think about a Kewbra

none of you guys posting own a terminator cobra I guess??? Hands down, a cobra with a few cheap and minor mods will flat smoke a z06. Trust me.... But hey, the z06's are still sharp cars. But do you really want to cross over to the other side???? Just my opinion. That and 2 quarters will buy you a soda someplaces...

Iv seen a vid where a 410RWHP bolton Z06 wasted a 470RWHP pullied 03 cobra.

Anywho, if you can swing it then hey, GO FOR IT! I personally dont consider vettes, "Chevrolet" lol. But I would NEVER sell my GT for any chevrolet...thats just me though.

+1 for the cobra. A z06 is not only going to have more expensive mods, but more expensive parts, period. It would probably be cheaper and easier to get huge hp numbers out of a cobra. Plus, you'll have the holy grail of stangs (next to the Shelby).

Corvette - regardless of if Cobra can be made faster cheaper or what not - is states symbol. If you want the fast car thats cheaper to make monstor out of, i say go with Cobra. 600hp~700hp is like few thousands buck worth of mods.
But if you want car that can duke out with some exotics, in term of overall performance - like 0~60, 1/4 mils. handling, lateral G's, 60~0, and shifter thats not 3 miles away from you, that every 16y/o punks are gonna drool over, Z-06 has got to be it.
I understand Cobra is much better handling car then our GT with its IRS. But lets not forget that our basic architechture dates back to 1977 Granada.
Semi-macpherson strut front suspension just not even in same dimension as doublewishbone front and rear suspension, even tho it has leaf spring. Remenber, there is a life past 1320 feet.

I would sooo sell my car for Z-06. Thats IF i can afford its premium for insuance and expensive repair parts just because its for Corvette, and if i can live with the fact its a GM, not Ford.
But since i can't, I have to look for Cobra instead....

If its a DD, no. If its a toy, yes. Good luck on the decision.

buy a toy Z06 and put it on your dash in your newly purchased Cobra and pretend its a vette sometimes.

Z06...if it's your DD then no. Also, make sure you don't go broke in every aspect of your life if you do get the 'vette.

but a Z06 is 600+lbs lighter, handles much better, and brakes much better. it's just a superior platform for a performance car. power is but one aspect.

i'd go with the Z06.

Yes, if:

1. You don't need 4 doors.
2. You can handle the insurance.
3. You can handle repair costs.

I personally don't see a problem if you use it as a DD. Scotty has one (Spreadman) and he uses it as a DD.
