I test drove several Cobras last week and the whole car seems to shake when I hit the gas in neutral. For instance, if I rev the engine and the rpms go above 2,000 from a dead stop. Is this normal?

omg, are you both crazy? Whenever you mash the gas in neutral in a car with that much power, of course the car will shake. Take a look under your hood while someone else mashes the gas and you will notice the engine move as you apply throttle depending on how hard you hit the gas. Probably should not be looking into buying a cobra if you want your car to rev like a toyota. OR the are just some serious issues with the cobra you drove. Drive a few more and then you will know.

Funny, but my old 1994 GT which dynoed at 372rwhp never shook anywhere near the way the '04 Cobra did. Stupid question, my ass...

damn guys who pissed in your cheerios?

I think you've got nothing to worry about, when I was looking at 03/04 cobras, I found the same thing and attributed it to the supercharged motor.

wow this may be the worst thread here..There may be something wrong with the cars you drove, or and its a big or, you may not be used to the 4v motors, they are a lot different than your old 5.0 gt. But if all that is wrong is the car shaking, then that really should not bother you if your into muscle cars. Ever sit in a 95 gts with e303 cam, and full exhaust? That will move the earth

I wish it wasn't. Almost didn't buy it because of that. The only thing that keeps me interested is the rediculous amount of power this thing puts out. If I had money I would be driving a Z06.

Cobra90GT is right. I can't belive this thread. The guy asks a simple question and people start flaming him like I have never seen before in the 2 years that I have been on Stangnet. Chill out people, it was just a question.

Wait a minute... you have the money to make a 600hp cobra, but not enough to get a z06?

Probably should've shopped a little harder if you dont like owning a Mustang

I can afford a Ferrari but then I wouldn't have any money left over for retirement, vacations, clothes, food, etc. Maybe that's what he meant?!?

I just cant believe who ever said they would rather be driving a z06 is they could, because let me tell you they are z0slow! The other night at the track they could not even break into the 12's!! The cobra's on the other hand, all ran high 11's low 12's. SVT has shown how Ford can truly blow the doors off of anything chevy puts out. Corvettes are just plain terrible (that is when you consider the crazy price for one!)
