The reason they won't do it, I suspect you know, is because it's illegal to muck around with OE cats. Technically, it's illegal everywhere but I guess in Cali the government has shops on edge about enforcement...
If you do this yourself you should be ready for grief if you get pulled over and for issues trying to get the car registered since you'll need an emissions inspection. At the very least, keep all of the original parts so you can return it to stock if need be.

i bet cali is a great place to vacation but for us stangers and hot rodders cali sucks, but thats my opinion. i mean technicly your replacing your worn out cats and installing a better exhaust system
