2005 interior...WTF?

The part of the 05 interior that I like the best is the steering wheel.

The part I like the least is the gages.

I'm not real crazy about the very square center stack and console. I like curved surfaces.

On a the whole the 05 interior looks better than any Mustang interior ever. But all Mustang interiors since 1964 have been pretty crappy, so that's not saying much.

Take a 1969 Boss 302. Looks beautiful on the outside. Then go sit inside it. The interior looks like total crap. So I guess one could say that junky interiors are part of the Mustang heritage.

I'm with you! I really like the gauges & the aluminum, hate the steering wheel and would die for some sumptuous black leather surfaces. Hopefully the base models will be toned down a tad...

i recently saw the 05 at a car show. Red ext... black n red int. with all the aluminum accents. it was beautiful! if i had to pick one thing to change on the car after seeing it in person, it would be the fog lights in the grill. the grill looked very "plasticy". Yes yes, because it is plastic, but for some reaosn it just looks a little cheap up close.

I still want one.

im not sure guy i reallly like the new interior
also the new interiors offered by nissan are very retro like the new mustang interior and i believe that they are more appealing then an interior thats dull, at least this will stand out and it suits the car since the rest of the exterior followed a simular pattern
i believe that it will look even better when you can see it for yourself at a dealer

I think if you had never seen the interior of a classic(and a lot of younger mustang people have not) and they did not say the new one was retro, everyone would have just thought it was cool. Its a good job of blending retro in and still looking totally modern.

yeah, just cause they were on another (cool) car doesn't mean anything. They're not there to look like the Shelby anyway.

Oh Lord! "Fastbackness"?!? We've coined a new word!?!

Seriously, what I don't like about the steering wheel is that it doesn't have a comfortable notch to tuck your driving fingers into. You know, the spot where the steering wheel meets the spoke portion that connects to it on both sides.

This steering wheel only has one on each side, and they're both too high up on the wheel. I like mine down lower so I can tuck my fingers in there with my elbow still planted on the arm rest. Easier to drive that way.

Just me, but that's my preference.

MLC Stang, that how you drive a mini van (and even then its a lazy way to drive) not a Mustang. Its a performance car.......it deserves to be driven like one!

Ditto. Ten and two my friend. Basic drivers ed.

And about the quarter window, I read it is there to mimic the shelby. But its there for visibility as well. If it was not to mimic shelby, they could have put any shape window in there, right?

OK, guys...

I get my hands on the wheel at 10 and 2 for the spirited driving and backroad burnin'.

I'm talkin' long-haul Interstate driving and Atlanta rush hour "follow the guy in front like a herd of cattle" driving! For that, you've gotta be able to get those elbows down.

Give me a good ole four-spoke steering wheel. Two spokes at 10 and 2 for the back road stuff, and two more at 8 and 4 for the easy rider long-haul grip!
