Roush 2005 Roush Mustang Registry

Is there anywhere to break down the numbers as to how many black Roush convertible automatic, etc? I got a Marti report but it only brakes down the Mustangs and not the Roush's
I don't have a complete list but what I found was 10 black automatics of which 6 were conv. I'm guessing there might be a total of twice that number.
There are believed to be 370 - 372 black cars.
What is super rare is the IUP on a Roush (Interior Upgrade Package). Early on in the 2005 model year you could get this option on your Roush then later they made them more basic (the original GT from Ford). IUP has the leather like door panels which end up peeling off and the leather steering wheel vs the rubber one all Roushes came with. Also the my color dash, which I believe if you got the IUP you had to keep the black faced OEM gages (Roush white faced gages don't work with mycolor option).

Thanks. Mine has the hard door panel inserts and white gauges. But Roush did send me their numbers and it looks like there were 13 black 2005 Sport convertible automatics with the dark gray interior.
This screenshot below is for 2005 Sports with UA color code (black)

We have a 2005 Sport convertible so I emailed them asking for this list. I am looking to buy another one so asked for the same list for 2006-2009 but they said they couldn't give me those numbers. They said they have them but not in a format they could easily send them so who knows.
There were 3 Stage 2 in (HP) White:
05-1988 build date 07/19/05 1ZVFT82H455223443 Bill Brown Ford - (MI) production date 07/18/05
05-2070 build date 08/01/05 1ZVFT82H355220002 RPP Demo production date 07/27/05
05-2156 build date 08/16/05 1ZVFT82H555191604 RPP Demo (auto trans) production date 08/08/05

Very good information. That matches my findings 317 black Sports, 53 black Stage 1, 2 black Stage 2 total for all black cars is then 372

That list is from the old fnsweet.com list. It's a great list but I believe that I found and verified 28 factory, 1 converted total Stage 2's The important thing is there were only a total of 2060 or so Roushes made. I also got the fork lift hole number to cars prior to 05-1175 (1171 and before have holes, 1176 and above does not). So at this point I pretty much quit trying to hone the number down, but if I'm a few off that's ok, I know for sure the fnsweet list has a few errors in it. So it is probably 97% accurate, and my list is probably 95% accurate. We are both missing stuff, but real close. Roush won't come off the real data which they used to have a lot of it on line years ago if you knew where to look. It's not there now and they play mum, but since I've seen it I know it exists.

Yeah like i said, when i asked for those lists for 2006-2009 they said it was too hard to put it in an emailable format? What/ I work in IT. It's a database.. Databases are meant to generate reports from...lol

Ok so get this. Back in the day, like say 2008 or so, you could get on the Roush site and you needed the last 8 (or maybe 6) VIN digits and it would tell you if the car had stripes, what Stage, if it had cloth or "Roush" leather interior, what dealer it was shipped to, all kinds of info. Well that went on for a year or so then they took a lot of that info off the site, then later they took the color off, where it would just give you basic info like color: BLUE. Ok which blue sonic blue or windveil? RED which red torch or redfire?
So it was frustrating because I figured out all the VIN numbers and was entering them in and getting all the info building a nice database then one day wham! They got rid of half the info. You'd ask Roush and no one knew anything. So for a fact the info, all of it did exist at one time but I think they didn't want to maintain it or keep it out there for whatever reason. So it has to exist, how did I get the info?

Roush just like Ford Performance likes to keep the info close now. Ford Performance because they want to sell Moroney Window Stickers and 'Official" certificates of authenticity. I am focused on 2022 GT500s now and track all their VINs. I find it a huge challenge and puzzle.
I started with the 2005 Roush and now using the same techniques and sleuthing am focused on the GT500 (2022 model).

So you mentioned stripes which reminded me of a question I have had. Ours is black with silver stripes but the stripes don't go all the way down to the bumpers? The front ends at the front lip of the hood and the back ends at the bottom of the trunk lid. Is that factory? Why did some go down onto the bumpers? Our stripes have been replaced as the original ones I guess were cracking.

Also, does your list give the last known location of each car? I think that would be pretty cool to see where each one is. For the record ours is just north of Pittsburgh, PA but spent most of it's life near Buffalo, NY but on the Michigan side of the border. BTW ours is 05-1673 VIN 1ZVFT85HX55211017

Roush stripes were of average quality and only lasted 5-10 years if they had harsh treatment. You can check the internet for old photos to see the configuration of the layout. On the front they should be on the vertical part of the bumper and horizontal portion of the bumper running into the grill. In back they run between the taillights only and up to the bottom of the wing. (brake light to tail lights only). Car 05-1673 was built "born on" the same day as my old '05 that is June 23, 2005. My Roush number was 05-1662.

My notes for 05-1673 are such:
autotrader 09/08/19, 22,859 miles. private seller in Fenton, MI, asking $16,500. Roush stripes, has rear window decal, Interior is "pony" white and black interior, Has correct S1 gas cap and dash plaque and roush wheels, registry says sport but looks like a legit S1. No engine photos. Auto Transmission. Car presents as stock.

01/24/24 Joe Basil Chevrolet asking $26,989, no hood scoop, slver stripes, missing stripes on front bumper, Stock engine. Carbon fiber interior. 32,697 miles.

Yeah we bought it from Basil Chevrolet in February 2024. The interior is gray and light gray, not white...lol. But as to the S1 gas cap...Roush confirmed it is a Sport but it does have all of the S1 stuff on it, including the block style 1 on the 'gas cap'. I talked to the previous owner who told me the original owner worked for Roush. I'm wondering if he ordered a Sport but had his buddies add all the S1 stuff 'secretly'. I know a few guys that worked for Chrysler and they said they did this all the time when they would buy a new vehicle. They would order a base model but their buddies would add the upgraded parts while it cruised the assembly line so they only paid for a base. The previous owner was the 3rd owner and he said he never changed anything. He said the owners before him weren't car people and really didn't even know what a Roush was, they just wanted a nice convertible to cruise in so he said he doubts they would have changed any of the S1 stuff.
I have the Marti report and it shows sold date of 6/29/05 with a released date of 4/26/05 but that would be from Ford and not from Roush. The car was originally sold to Brighton Ford in Brighton, MI

Very easy back in the day to "convert" a Sport to a S1. Just needed 3 things 1. the gas cap which you could buy for a short time the 2005 only "S1" gas cap from Roush, 2. the chrome 18" Roush wheels, available everywhere, 3. the dash plaque S1 which was available as I mentioned from Roush for a couple of years.
So very possible to "upgrade" your Sport to a S1, however, the cost was about the same as Roush rarely discounted if ever their parts. Interestingly enough Roush would get in batches of consecutively numbered (VIN numbered) cars and convert them to Roush Mustangs. These could be in batches as few as 1 or 2 all the way up to 40 or 50. Typically a dozen or 2 dozen at t time.

I havn't been on here in a while. I have a 2005 Roush mustang convertible in black with gray interior and manual tranny. I am the 2 owner and the 1st owner was a 70 year old lady that ordered it out in Kansas City, MO. I was told by the first owners family she got it at the only authorized Roush dealer in Missouri. It was a sport to start with she ordered it with a hood scoop, comfort bar, floor mats, tool box and other options that totaled $40,000 and some change. No stripes, just a plain GT gas cap, steel wheels and no Jack Roush signature on dash. It has 64, 600 miles on it and some 20" fancy chome wheels, I wish it still had the factory wheels on it. I was told she could get the car quicker and little bit cheaper by going thur the dealer in KC. I havn't drove it a whole lot since I got it. I may put it up for sale soon.

Anyone know anything about 05-2225? I have already got the data sheet from Roush confirming it is a Sport. Anyone know anything about it's history? Supposed to go look at it tomorrow. Has alot of aftermarket mods done under the hood now so pretty far from stock. 29,000 miles. One concern is I'm sure it has a custom tune but seller says he knows nothing about the tuner or anything and says there is no tuner with the car. It has Ford Racing intake, throttle body, hot rod cams, Steeda CAI and short tube headers so doubt it has the stock tune. If I could find a previous owner maybe they still have the tuner?

Went and looked at it and drove it. Haven't made a decision yet.

Well looks like I'll be the new owner of 05-2225. The coupe version of our 05-1673. Supposed to pick it up the day after x-mas. The coupe has no stripes on it now but I might add the silver ones to match our other one but I really like the looks of the flat black stripes on the black car. The car has short tubes, FRPP intake, FRPP 62mm TB, hot rod cams and a CAI so not concerned with keeping it original at this point. Has 29,000 miles on it.
I'd love to find the previous owner and the owner that did the mods. The tuner is missing so no idea whats in it and not certain exactly what cams are in it so probably gonna have to take it to a tuner and have a custom tune designed for it since I don't know exactly whats inside the motor
