I'm sorry Jack1.2 I had been given the wrong number car is #0270 in red fire. Once you said it was blue I had to call the guy

I am lacking what Roush number 270 VIN is tied to this car. I do have some notes on this car that it has roush leather interior seats, it is redfire in color. Sold in NM in 2019. Has a different engine than stock, heavily modified 326 CID Brenspeed engine.

Thank you, sir! A car’s journey throughout its life is so interesting to me. Finding a rust free Missouri car in a barn in the middle of the country in Michigan is my kind of history.

Is there anywhere to break down the numbers as to how many black Roush convertible automatic, etc? I got a Marti report but it only brakes down the Mustangs and not the Roush's

Found a Roush that I might be interested in. It has been modified as far as tires/wheels, hood, added gauges. Has 100,000 miles. Roush ID is 05-0584. It does not have a dash plaque but does have the carbon fiber dash. I don't care if it is a real Roush, although I believe it is. As long as I'm not paying the price for a Roush. We have our '05 Stage 1 vert so this would be for me to play with. TBH I was considering buying a GT and adding the Roush bumpers, etc so authenticity isn't a high priority. Issues for me are the high miles and I think the price is a little high for that many miles on a modified Roush? They are asking $15,000. It also looks like cloth seats but hard to tell in the pictures. Seller says it's a Sport. Any info would be appreciated. Car is 5 hours away

2005? That seems a little high but besides that im always concerned with how one modifies their car. Anyway if you dont care if its authentic why not look for a GT? By them saying its a roush price goes up

Yeah the mods are cosmetic only. Nothing done to the engine as per the seller. As far as being authentic, I'd be ok with a GT with Roush bodywork but the Roush body kit is like $2000-2500 then add about $2000-3000 more for paint. I'd be ok with a plain GT that already has the Roush kit. There is one for sale around here but fell its too high too. It's a GT with the whole Roush body kit. About 50,000 miles for $19,000. I'm thinking close to $15,000-16,000 but haven't seen it in person yet. It's not too far from me. The I see Shelby GT's for about $20,000 with only around 50,000 miles so may consider those but I do like the looks of the Roush's better

I see. When i read that i was thinking engine mods and immediate red flag for me! Only because of its potential value. Markets been kinda high from what i can tell, but the deals are out there

Yeah i'm staying away from anything with engine mods other than CAI and exhaust

My wife and I bought a 2005 roush mustang last year. It does have the forklift holes and stage 2 emblem on dash. The Vin number is 1ZVF82H755148138 with roush badge number 05-0820 in passenger door frame. It has 32,000 miles and is performance white with blue stripes. Thank you for your time doing the registering! Love reading details on these cars as they left Roush and how many of a certain color that were made. Looking forward to your response!

I just got this from Roush Friday. If you do have a Stage 2 in performance white then it is the only 2005 white Stage 2

We have a 2005 Sport convertible so I emailed them asking for this list. I am looking to buy another one so asked for the same list for 2006-2009 but they said they couldn't give me those numbers. They said they have them but not in a format they could easily send them so who knows.

Hopefully it is genuine Roush stage 2, it had 2 previous owners. It is a manual coupe with white Roush guages and dark grey Roush signature seats. It has the blue suspension pieces. Thank you for your time and the information!!!

Well Mr. McIntyre there are some stories here. Let me give you the bad news first, your car 05-0820 VIN 1ZVFT82H755148138 is not a Stage 2 Roush, it was originally born a Sport. Not to fear though, you have a rare Roush with forklift holes, as your car was born on 04/18/05 and one of the thousand or so forklift holed cars. With low mileage, a very valuable car indeed.

So starting in 2005 and running about 2 or 3 years you could buy the Roush Stage 1 or 2 emblems for the dash (placed between the air vents) for about $50 from Roush. The whole idea was not to badge engineer your car, but rather you could, as an enthusiast, buy a Sport and then later purchase all the parts from Roush to upgrade your sport to a Stage 1 or 2 as you see fit.

In your case either someone thought they would convert the car to a Stage 2 (which is actually what I did to my sport by the way) or they just wanted to be cool and stick a $50 badge on their Sport and call it good. Now, you could only buy the Stage 2 dash badge for a couple of years, I think since most people were not converting their cars over suspension wise but just passing a Sport off as a Stage 2 may be the reason Roush quit selling the dash badges after a while. I may be wrong on the reason, but they were only available for a few years direct from Roush.

More commonly you would see and still to this day see a Sport advertised as a Stage 2 from a used car dealer because it has the italic "2" gas cap decal and aftermarket 18" wheels. That again does not make it a factory original Stage 2. This is all too common because folks don't know the history. The secret way to tell if it is one of the real 29 Stage 2's made in 2005 is to look at the rear "gas" cap badge. In 2005 you will have the block font number "1" or "2". For 2006 and up the font will be italic or "1" or "2". Again you could buy from Roush the gas cap with the "R" (Roush) 1 or 2 but never the 3. However, all were in the italic font, not a block font.

So let's take a deep dive into a Stage 2 for 2005.
As I mentioned earlier, due to EPA testing Roush could not and did not get the M90 Roushcharger done in time for the 2005 models, thus there is no such thing as a factory Stage 3 Roush in 2005. Didn't happen, Stage 3 came along in 2006 and later. So this makes the top dog the Stage 2 for 2005. So 13 of these 29 cars are RPP demo cars. The RPP demos are test cars, Roush executive cars, or special cars (like magazine press cars), and in 2005 there were a handful of Stage 1 RPP cars as well. Specifically, though these Stage 2 RPP cars were used in the reality Discovery Network show "Racer X". The premise being take up and coming racers and have them compete in Stage 2 Roushs for a chance at a NASCAR career. Several future NASCAR drivers were in this show.
So I think 12 cars were used in the Racer X show as the 13th RPP demo car was an automatic (05-2156 white). Also of interest and the original owner made a huge deal out of this that he bought a Stage 1 or Sport and soon had Roush convert it officially at the factory to a Stage 2. So Roush changed the official record and made this car a legit factory Stage 2 (05-0244) Torch Red.

How do I spot a true, factory 2005 Stage 2 Roush?
