I have a 2006 GT with a factory installed shaker 500 system. I have been pondering as to weather or not it's possible for a dealer, or a certified ford shop to upgrade it to the shaker 1000 system.

If it is not possible, what would be some possible alternatives for something similar. Granted I am not looking for bass overkill, just something a bit more than what the shaker 500 offers. Don't get me wrong, it's a great sounded system on it's own.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

Here is a Shaker 500 system upgrade from CDC. http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/catalog/itemdisplay/712.html

Maybe this will help you out...

That's not bad. A few short months ago CDC intorduced that setup on here for $999(I believe)and alot of us freaked at the price.

I would never install the Shaker 1000. It is junk and ridiculously overpriced, not to mention it takes up way too much room. You can get an amp/sub/box combo for $600 and under that would blow the 1000 away and take up far less room.

Wow, looks like CDC took our opinions seriously. That's about what we told them to price it at. It's quite tempting now.

For that price you can easily get a custom sub & box from a local audio shop. Probably even a better head unit if you chip in some more $$$

Aftermarket will be better and cheaper. It's a simple fact. Do some pricing but make sure the shop knows how to install your system.
Best Buy told me a system I liked wouldn't fit in my 2007 GT. Turns out it would fit, they couldn't do it.
