2006 V6 manual loose collar behind trans...

Not sure what this is, but it's loose and rotates freely and independently of the driveshaft. I starting looking when I heard a pinging when starting off in first it reverse.

I 'think' it is some kind of 'driveshaft disconnect'. Used for when towing behind a motor home.

I thought that was only required for auto trans.
