Hello, all.

I have a 2007 Mustang (base model, 4.0L 5 spd) and have to replace the rear calipers. Having looked at a number of sources, I keep reading that the removal (and reinstallation) of the parking brake cable from/to the calipers is a bit of a headache.

My question is this: Is there a reason why those who do this repair don't reduce/remove the tension in the parking brake cable at the lever? Would it not make sense? Are there any arguments for why someone would not want to do this?

All input is welcome. Thanks!
