select the stang and see both front and side impacts. The front is scary, the head misses the air bag.. Typical Ford bean counter engineering. Wish they had the hard top video..
So, what would be the results for the cars made before 07? they talk about the door issue, but what about the head/air bag issue? Is this a case of fixing one problem and causing another? And which is worse? If you are belted in in a frontal crash, is the door issue an issue?
Looks pretty bad, but at least the dummy's head didn't hit the windshield header, which would've been a really serious injury. I don't think the stang did too badly for an offset barrier. It DOES need rollover protection (how about a REAL rollover bar) as well.
the stang doesn't need roll over protection, the only way you'll roll your car is if you are doing something really really dumb..
I"m no engineer, but it seems the car is crushing in such a way that the passenger is moving forward in a straight line while the car is moving in this case to the right, thus the head is moving left of the bag..
Why can't they just make a bigger bag that goes out further toward the door?
