What do you guys think? There is a thread in BHR with 47 pics. I know it's not a Ford, but it is trying to compete. I honestly think it is not as tough looking, and does not have the stance of the current Mustangs...especially the GT500.

BTW......I also say it doesn't hold a candle to a Fox Body Mustang with some 17X9 or 17X10.5 meats under it!!!!!!! And the fox is many years old.

I am a big fan of it but with only 425HP on the SRT8 it really isn't competition for the GT500. If Dodge is willing to jump into the musclecar market again with both feet they'll need to match the 500HP that Ford has put on the table. Aside from that, I really like it, my only negative comment is the rear fascia is way too plain. But we'll see what goes to production. I can't wait to watch the original three "ponycars" duke it out: Mustang, Camaro and Challenger!

No. I found them in two different places. They look pretty close, but the 70 challenger in one pic has a scoop, and the other does not.

I love the car. More power is slaited for the second year. But to give an example, a bone stock 5.7 hemi with a procharger put's down over 600 hp and tq. I believe they plan to procharge a 6.2 hemi. It should be sick!

I saw it has a fairly limited run this year, i'd LOVE to see a supercharged SRT-8 Challenger for the second run! I'd prefer something twin screw but centrifugal would work just fine for me! This battle is getting heated and it will be excited what the new Mustang will have to sway buyers. The next couple of years are going to really provide us with some great used cars in about 15 years! Hopefully then I can afford one.

The "demo" car i've seen pics of was a standard with a pistol grip style shifter on it.

Ha, I was looking at pics of this car last night at work, I think the Challenger is gonna be sick. I loved Mustangs since the day I was born, really, but I like any proven performance car thats looks good.

At 4,140 lbs it might have to be s/c to run with the GT500, But time will tell.

Damn, cars are getting heavier and heavier, I guess thats sometihing we'll have to get used to.

Why are they getting so heavy? Obviously its huge, but also because of all the newer safety requirements and whatnot? Pretty soon we might as well drive mack trucks down the quarter mile!

That is just like the Charger... UGLY. Everybody trys to copy Ford and go back to the old design. But to bad Ford was the only company to pull it off. And they did a awesome job with the GT500's as well!

Dodge did a beautiful job on the car, really big, though, and could use Jenny Craig. I'd buy one. Wonder how long it'll be before they stop making it AGAIN cuz it won't sell like the Mustang, regardless of how well it performs? I love it when the others try(and they make cool renditions of the Mustang), then cave. There can be only one.

I love the challenger, and i love dodge/mopars, one of my fav. muscle cars of all time was the 69 roadrunner.
I think dodge hit the nail on the head with this car, it looks perfect and i think it will be hear to stay, I wish i could afford one, but i have a close family friend who ordered one last year and is waiting for his to arrive, Soooo maybe sometime soon i can get some pics,

It'll only be here to stay if Chrysler doesn't go belly-up in the next few years. They're cutting their model lineup in half, and shutting down 1/3 of their dealerships, supposedly to make their company more "efficient." Also, only initially offering these cars in SRT form with automatics only and pricing them at an absurd $40k (not counting how far stealerships will mark them up), along with a very limited production number per year, I don't see these as really being "competition" in any way at all with Mustangs. You can buy a nice Mustang GT for literally HALF of what you'd wind up spending just to get your hands on a Challenger.

i think its ugly..late stated before..its hard to discontinue a car then many many many years later try and bring it back.

i personally think that it looks good from the front but that's it..ugly as fock for the rest...interior feels more lux. then muscle car.
