Hello all,
Been a Mustang enthusiast all my life. When i was a kid my dad had a 1986GT, then my mom had a 97-93 GT convertible. Well, when it came time for me, I bought a 1990 GT in 2003, my freshman year in college. I owned that Fox for 10 years and regrettably sold it. Here's how she sat when sold:
She was bone stock when i bought her. Did most of the usual upgrades, but most notably:
- 331 SBF (forged internals) with Trick Flow H/C/I
- Cobra 5lug conversion with sn95 rear end and 3.73 gears
- MM suspension pieces here and there (CC Plates, RLCAs, Panhard bar)... it was also lowered on Eibach springs with Bilstein shocks.
- Corbeau Seats
- Upgraded many more parts (cooling, audio, etc. etc.)
Anyways, sold it to a guy. I kept in touch with him ever since. He's a big Mustang guy, especially Fox Bodies. I tried buying my exact car back many times and but I think he parted it out for other projects. Well he finally texted me that he's selling an almost clone of my old Fox. A red 1990 GT, although this one is mostly stock. He's doing a Cobra 5lug conversion for me, using the same rear end out of my Fox, but he swapped the 3.73's for 3.31's. Even using my exact New Edge GT rims for the 5lug swap. Its got Koni shocks and H&R springs, LX taillights and the gears, but otherwise bone stock. I'll be picking it up in the next couple weeks, but here she is. Excited to get back into a Fox Body.
*I did own a 98 Cobra after i sold the fox. Didn't touch the engine, but did MM Coilovers, MM RLCAs, MM CC Plates. It handled great but suffered from the stuck valve issue in the intake... forget the exact name of that issue. It revved high and was fun to drive but didn't have "it" for me.
I've already purchased a MGW short shifter for this one. Next on the list will be MM Full Length subframes, then RLCAs and panhard bar, all MM. I'm undecided on what to do with the motor on this one. I believe it has 167k miles.
