It's pretty sad that my healthy cammed stroker puts down less than that and it's temperamental as hell on the street, while this engine purrs like a kitten and gets better mpg than most cars i've driven.
Get back with me in about 5 years, and i WILL be swapping one of these into my coupe.

At the pace of technology right now, I'd be willing to bet Ford will have made this engine obsolete in 5 years. Have you seen that they no longer offer the 3-valve as a crate engine?
I was going disagree with you because this show promise of being a good motor. But so was the 4v 4.6, and the 3v 4.6. You are probably right.
while that is impressive and all, i bet your built pushrod coupe is still faster. Not much less power im sure quite a bit lighter. how heavy are the 2011 mustangs?

Oh, its going to be a great motor... But in 5 years there will be a better one, or at least a better version of this one. Gone are the days of going for years without mechanical changes like our 87-93 5.0.

thats an excellent point. wonder if they realized this
And to answer your question, the HP reading would be higher because the transmission is multiplying the numbers
I imagine that it'll stick around longer than that. Remember, even though the 3-valve head configuration was only around for 5-years, the Romeo/Windsor Modular engines themselves have been around for the past 19-years.
I'm sure they'll see a few minor improvements in the next few years, but I don't imagine it'll be anything drastic like a complete engine redesign.
Anyone who isn't completely impressed by this engine, is quite frankly blinded by sheer ignorance.

And you were doing so well, Gearbanger. lolLets not start that pissing match again.![]()
