Hey guys the V6 performance package says "unique calipers" for the V6. could someone find some pics of the standard calipers and standard GT calipers so that we could get a definitive answer as to whether or not the performance package actually upgrades calipers?

i think its just a pad upgrade but i want to make sure. if its just pads it could affect my package decision.

isnt the performance pack on the 11 V6 just a carry over of the 2010 GT track pack? if thats the case i think its only just a pad upgrade

The V6PP is supposed to come with GT calipers, they look exactly the same from the outside as do all regular Mustang calipers since 2005 so a picture wouldn't help. I have not been able to find out yet if there is a piston size difference, that would be the only thing that would make them special to the V6 cars.

The pads are definitely a performance compound though.

yeah i can't think of why they'd offer calipers that are different on cars with identical hub assemblies either.

All the parts catalogs for reman calipers show the V6 and GT use the same calipers.

So, if having the same calipers, not something special, will keep you from wanting a performance package V6 then I guess you better go for something else.

its not that i want something better its just that i'm trying to figure out exactly whats included in the package. this is mainly because i like the gray ten spokes better than the PP wheels. its all good.

I've seen a couple of GT/CS cars and I am just the opposite, I like the black wheels MUCH better. Black goes with all colors, gray doesn't.

MCA package is just an appearance package, does nothing for performance other than the slight improvement of the 18" wheels/tires. No upgrade to the suspension or ESC over a standard Mustang.

You don't buy the Performance Package for looks, you buy it for what it does for the performance.

Guess it just depends on if you want the best handling and stopping Mustang or not.

Call them like I see them.

Those wheels are not available on a performance package car, only as option on regular Mustangs.

Very intelligent response.

At least you know to give up when you've been shown up.

Dude, MakotoS13, you did say Mustang Club of America wheels, if he didn't know that was an option and only knew it was part of a package, you didn't have to be a dick to him. Seriously, can you be on a thread and not be a douche to people? All you had to say was "no, the MCA wheels are an option, they don't have to just be part of that package" and this thread would have continued on, but instead you ended it by making it personal. Just because you're on the internet doesn't give you the right to be an *******. This is a great forum without people like you making it ****ty.

dude, i'm the douche cause this cat is calling me a jackass?

sequence of events:

1. me. - hey guys are the calipers the same on the non PP V6cars as the base cars? because i like the gray wheels that dont come with the PP.
2. guy - CS/GT wheels aren't as pretty as the PP V6 cars
3. me - i'm talking about the wheels that are with the MCA package, the 18's
4. guy - the MCA package is just for looks
5. me - dude, im talking about just the wheels.
6. guy - no jackass those wheels ONLY COME WITH THE MCA PACKAGE
7. me - ford says i can get em by themselves
8. guy - you can't get those wheels with the PP car.
9. me - it should be obvious at this point that my decision is 18" wheels VS the V6PP and that decision is hinged on whether or not the calipers are the same on all the cars but instead of telling you that i'm going to facepalm and call the guy a retard because he obviously does not understand whats going on.

so maybe you should scroll up before you respond to me like this guy hasn't been a jerk for no good reason after responding to every post as if his computer can't scroll up and he's had his memory wiped.

You started it by saying "are you high?"
Not everybody is as well versed in every option for a V6 as you, so yes, I did scroll up, so don't try to start anything with me. I'm just saying, you could just relay info instead of acting like everybody is an idiot for not knowing every package and option for the new V6. I assumed you were talking about the MCA package too, so thanks for clearing it up that the wheels are an option on their own, but next time try to just stay helpful and not talk down to people because they don't know every option and thing you're wanting for your car...

dude i was kidding and referring to the fact that the guy wasn't following along at ALL. if that offends you (both) i recommend a good helmet because the world is gonna be a scary place. to be honest i shouldn't have called him a retard but asking if he's high was perfectly reasonable given the sequence of events lol

It doesn't offend me at all, I'm just saying, you're killing threads that have quite a bit of good info in them by doing that ****. But whatever, say I need a helmet for life or whatever you want, you don't know me at all, so that's cool. I was just trying to give some advice and get this back on topic for the people who ARE looking to pick up a car like this and don't realize what they get in each package.
