2012 Mach 1 at dealership
Hey fellas, so first off I'm sorry if this is wrong place to post this but I wanted opinions from where I thought most of you would look on here. I am new to this site being that I am a 2006 Pontiac gto owner and am looking to switching over to the dark side. With that said my local dealership has a 2012 dark grey gt premium Mach one body kit car obviously due to ford not producing them this year. It has the following:

Shaker hood / also painted black
Painted spoiler
Black torque thruster type wheels whit chrome lip
Lowered on ford racing spring
Flow master American thunder
Chin spoiler and Mach one badging
Brembo package

My question is, for $35.5 is it worth buying or should I move on to another or hold out till 2013s come out really need all your input before she disappears.

I would love to see this car. Sounds like an ok price, which is different than a great price. If you love the car, pitch them a low ball offer and see how they respond. Worst thing they can do is say no. Sounds like you are getting significant mods basically for free.

^ He states in the original post that is a dealer installed body kit.
As far as whether you should buy it it depends on whether you like the 2012 or really want a 13. The price seems good. List on a 2013 GT premium w/brembos is over 37k on Fordvechicles.com. So your already 2k under list. Then parts, labor and, painting of the hood and body kit, and the parts and labor for the springs and the cat back. I say if you like the body kit, are happy with the quality of the paint and installation , and don't absolutely have to have a '13 then get it. The price seems fair.

If you like it I would go for it, with that said, if they gave you that price pretty easy, you can probably get another grand or so knocked off.

If ford didn't put the model name I just dont think it can be called a mach 1 until Ford actually produces one from the factory offered as a package. But hey if you love it ya go for it. But im hearing good things about the 2013. ad remember to be happy with it cus come 2014 and a half I believe or 2015 there will be a brand new body style. smaller and supposedely more european (yuck) unless it ends up looking good then ill give it a slow clap.

First off, there is no 2012 Mach 1, so calling it that is just plain wrong. It's a modded GT, just like mine. The price should be in-line with similarly equipped factory GTs. Any mods the dealer commissioned are only worth extra if they appeal to the right buyer, but to anyone else it's just a GT. I, for one, would walk away from any car with "Mach 1", "Cobra", "GTXXX" or "BOSS" badges on it that didn't come from Ford. Similar styling-ok... Counterfeit badging-NO.

I'll second the above, since it's not a real Mach 1 though, that should be a bargaining point.
EX: You like to mods, but don't like the badging. So, since the dealer has inconvenienced you, now you have to take off the badging (even if you like it, this could be a good case) on your own. Bummer...
Maybe they'll drop it a couple thousand? Plus like you know, the '13s are coming in, they gotta get the '12s out!

If YOU like it, that's really all that matters. I'm more a fan of the '68 Shelby look, but the beauty of these cars is that you can make them into anything you want. One thing to keep in mind is that aftermarket hoods aren't currently available for the 2013's, and this is precisely the reason I went to the dealer last weekend and picked up a 2012 V6 instead of a 2013.

As for the badge snobs, they can huff and puff all they want. If you want a "Mach 1", then by god, get the Mach 1. You might want to consider getting a set of rear window louvers like the '69 and '70 cars had in order to complete the Mach 1 appearance.

I'm having custom badges made for my car to go with the mods I'm going to be making:

The beauty of it is that it makes my car completely unique, speaks to Ford's racing heritage, and doesn't offend the badge snobs (not that I really care about that aspect).

I am normally against dealer created special editions and would never buy or recommend one. They are usually overpriced, and gaudy In this case however provided the OP likes the body kit I think its a good deal. I wouldn't be surprised if a few months ago the dealer in question was asking some ridiculous price for this car, and it hasn't sold. Now that the '13s are out he knows he never get what he wants and is now trying to cut his losses and move the car. Basically it is a GT Premium with Brembos for @ 2k under list, with free flowmasters, ford racing springs, bullit wheels, shaker hood, and body kit all installed. Sounds like a good deal to me if the OP likes how it looks.
