At 92,000 miles decided to change out transmission fluid in my 2013 Mustang GT 5.0. It has the Getrag MT 82 6 speed. Since all maintenance on that car is documented from Ford dealerships, I was expecting to drain gold/light brown fluid from the trans but out came red fluid - clearly red and in good shape I would say. Smelled fine and felt, well, slippery. Not sure what that was but maybe Redline MTL or? I replaced it with Royal Purple Synchromax. This is not an advertisement for Royal Purple as I have driven this just 20 miles since the fluid change. So far, I feel NO difference in trans behavior. If you are planning a change of trans fluids, this one, so far, has done nothing to improve a slight notchiness going into 1st when trans is cool. Anyone tried the BG trans fluid? Results?
