2014 GT- Won't go into gear while running (MT-82)

Last night I was out in my car cruising down the highway when I went to change gears, and it locked me out. It seemed strange so I released the clutch pedal and repressed it to try again and nothing... So I coasted to the side to further investigate. With the car running, it will not go into any gears with the clutch depressed. The pedal pressure feels normal, and there are no abnormal noises coming from the trans area or anywhere for that. The car very smoothly shifts while off, and I actually started the car in first gear to get going and clutch-less shifted to limp it home (all gears are functional so the trans itself is fine). From here, I am thinking either bad clutch (disc), or a slave cylinder? Looked at the master, and I see no fluid leaking, and being that pedal pressure feels normal I wouldn't think the master is bad. The issue was abrupt, and there has been no decline in performance over the past weeks. I daily drive the car, and it has been great thus far. I knew the Mt-82 curse would hit me eventually. :/ Has anyone else concurred this problem? Tomorrow I have to tow it 75 miles back home, and I will start tearing the trans out.

Thanks in advance!

Therealgoodeguy,

Leaking slave cylinder? That would affect all gears.

Some have had the bolts holding the pressure plate back out a bit and this can foul things up, too. At least you will see this when you get the transmission and clutch out.

Not very informative but a couple of possibilities I've seen menitoned on the various forums.

I had that same issue but worse and I had to get a new tranny.

You might slide out if you are going too fast.

My initial thought would be the slave/TOB failed/lost it's prime. First check and make sure your fluid is full in the MC and then try pumping the clutch pedal 50 times or so and see if it makes it come back. if that doesn't help, then I would look at the line. If the line is good, then I would hazard a guess that one of the fingers on the pressure plate broke and it has the TOB wedged.

If you need one, I have a very low mileage MT-82 I could part with.
