well, ive got a c4 in the car now and the stall that is in there is way to high (3800-4400). and my pops is gonna get me a new one for christmas. after looking at different companies and getting some opinions ive decided that edge racing is the way to go. they make one that is a mild street converter with a true stall of 2400-2600 rpms. does anyone think that is too low for my combo or what. thanks for any help guys

Andre from Edge told me that A 3000 Stall is perfect for a 5.0 Mustang that wants to drive on the street and wants a killer launch at the track. I told him what i had now, and what my plans were for my car so he said anywhere from 2800-3200 rpm stall!!

I had a 2400-2600 stall in my AOD, and whether it was my car, or the converter Im not sure but I could only bring RPMs up to about 1800 (sitting on the brake) and even when Id flash it it barely hit 2000. I was disappointed to say the least. I would say go for something 2800-3000!

ok so a torque converter hits the rpm range first before taking off?????? lets say i get a 3000 stall, from a stop its gonna shirp the tires no matter what???

No Dude, You don't have to take off at 3000 all the time that is when the converter lock's up at least on a lock up converter like mine. Go with the Edge Racing and go with what Andre tells you. Get the same one as mine it is awesome for the street and strip 3200 stall.

well the thing is....the 2400-2600 stall is 250 and if i went custom or a higher stall it would run about 400, from what i can recall on their site. i might have to just call him tomorrow and see what he says.

well see the thing is...im just getting this one so i can drive it for a year or two more until i get done with school and get heads and make the car a dedicated drag car. thats why im keeping the stall that i have until then. its just too high for my car right now and i cant get the car to the track because every track is atleast an hour away. id just like something thats more street friendly and uses more of my power band because a 4000 stall doesnt use but maybe 2000 rpms of my power band. im just gonna have to call edge and see what they say. thanks for the help guys.

ps. i hear what you are saying 25thmustang and i value your opinion since your car is amazing, but i theres no sense in spending a load of money on this converter when im gonna take it out in a couple years to put my old one back in it or another one, ya know. thanks for the help man

Go with 2800-3200 stall for a killer launch on the street and strip. 3200 stall is high but still streetable and gives a heck of a stronger launch than 2400-2600. B&M, TCI, they are all pretty much the same. They are all good companies with the same performance, all depends on how hard you run them. I'm happy with my B&M 3200. You just have to make sure ur cam is the right size for ur stall. you want your powerband to hit right after ur stall kicks off. like if u have a 3200 stall that means u will be getting off the line at 3200, so u want a cam to hit its powerband at like 3500rpm.

well thats why im thinking a 2400-2600 would be good for my car because my power band kicks in just under 3 rpms. im gonna call edge tomorrow and see what they say. pops aint gonna spend 400 bucks on this thing since he already bought me a valve body for 200 bucks.

there is "no" difference between a 2400 and a 2600,,and the same for 2800 and 3000,,its too close, theres no difference!! 2400 and 2800 ok,nows theres a difference.People who have stock motors and edge converters swear by the 3000 stall. But Precision Industries makes a 2400 that is perfect.A 3000 P.I. is too big for a stock motor.

well do you think a 2400 stall would work or is that going to be way to small and make the car a dog. im not looking for it to be a track monster...i just want it to be a little more streetable than it in now. im planning on a 100 shot in the near future would that make a difference? would i need a different stall once i got the nitrous on? what about gears, if i changed the gears to 3.73 would it make a difference? sorry for all the questions im just trying to figure out whats best
