$2500 To Spend On Mods Need Help

here is my .02.

mongoose kit, or kennebell 6psi. do the install yourself. I recomend the kenne bell just because it replaces the plastic intake.

both kits come with tune and everthing you need. Both kit are about 3700.

take you $2500 and sell the NOS kit.


If you don't want to go this route. gears, axels, rear diff, cams, longtubes, suspention. then keep the NOS and spray it as well.

to me the advantage of the supercharged car is out of the boost it should have the economy and drivability of the stock car. you just won't be able to run a sticky tire till you upgrade the rear.

As far as a more comfortable and drivable car on the street, I recommend some gears (3.73s prolly), and a performance chip..those 2 items made my car MUCH more friendly and easy to drive. As far as cams, with a 5 spd if the loap is too severe then your gonna have bucking/jerking issues at low RPMs, not to mention a loss of lowend torque. Really IMO if you get cams I would go ahead and P&P the heads and get some better internals and really take advantage of the cams and turn about 7200RPMs. I just dont think that cams actually add to the drivability, more to the fun factor... have a HIGH durration cam (about 300 on exhaust, 29X on the intake...yep blower cam) in my 66 but fortunatly the stall takes most of the jerking out...but I have the lowend torque of a 4 banger LOL, and it doesnt come alive until around 3500-4K....Anyways $2500 will go quite a ways, but for a BIG power gain you really cant beat the cams LOL. So take that how you want too, just depends on what your looking for.

I saw the guy over on Corral but I'm not registared there and for some reason the verification box will not come up. They seem to have more for sale then here. I'm thinking if I can get a S/C for about 2500 I'll go that route. If not I'll do the other little things. What is going to make a funner car? The S/C or suspension work and the other items. I'm not to sure how many guys are doing the cam thing but alot are doing the S/C thing. I guess they have more $$$. Thanks

ive had both, the S/C car will be way more enjoyable, atleast for me. www.coolblueperformance.com is his site, check that out, shoot him an email or just register on corral he'll get back to you within minutes. 2500 for a BRAND NEW vortech kit. or pickup a used one for maybe a grand less than that. just shoot for one with lower miles.
