I have the opportunity to buy a slightly used set of 28x10.5 M/T ET Street Drag Tires (not the drag radials) that are mounted on 16" v6 rims. I understand typically everyone here uses 26" tall tires. This deal is almost too good to pass up and I am wondering what is the difference in performance will there be between the 26" and 28" tall tire?

Thanks for the help!

Lets say you have 26" tall tires and 4.10:1 rear. The 28" tall tires will need around 4.4:1 for the same torque at the wheel. Or put the other way 28" tall tires with 4.10:1 will be the same as 26" tall tires and around 3.8:1 gear.

That's right. I switched from 3.73 + 26" to 4.10 + 28", and trap rpm was unchanged .

However the 28" helped my 60' a lot. Well, it improved 60' time by about 0.1s, which is a lot to me (0.2 s faster ET).

With 26" drags and 3.73's would the car still run through the traps in 4th or would it be able to stay in 3rd longer? I know 28" slicks are good with 4.10's and up, but with 3.73's i would think 26" slicks would be enough. Sorry for the hijack
