289 Engine noise w/video

I have a new banging in the engine that I can't find. I have adjusted the valves 3 times and it's still there. It's at the beging of the video and comes back at the end. It doesn't stop when plug wires are pulled one at a time and seems to happen at all rpm. Please help, any ideas.

It's a 289 with aluminum heads and roller rockers.

On my computer it's tough to tell but it sounds like rocker arm clatter. But since you've already adjusted the valves I'd say it's safe to say that ain't it. Maybe a lifter? Sure sounds cam or valvetrain related to me.

It does sound like the valve train, but its difficult to tell. Maybe a pushrod? Did you adjust the valves while the engine was running?

It seems most pronounced on the driver side. If you don't have a stethoscope (cheap at Harbor Freight) use a long screwdriver or breaker bar with the handle or smoothest part pressed up tight to your ear and probe around touching it to various points on valve covers, etc. to help pinpoint the location.

It's hard to tell for sure with the audio, but it sounds like it could be valvetrain, or possibly an exhaust leak.

Sounds more to me, like the fan blade is "clearancing" the shroud to fit it better, or at least something the fan blade is hitting....Hose clamp "tail", something like that...

Thanks everyone. I took off the transmission inspection plate and everything looks snug. I am going to revisit the valve train on the drivers side. I'll post after I take a better look.
