289 manifolds on GT40Y heads

I’m low on funds but I need to get the rebuilt 5.0 into The Stangulator. I have to get back to driving her on a regular basis or I will go mad.Will the stock 289 exhaust manifolds fit on the aluminum GT40Y heads?

They will fit but choke down the engine pretty good. You can't save up $150 for a set of long tube Hookers, or $99 for some Heddmen shorties?

Won't the existing exhaust have to be fitted to the headers too?

Money's pretty tight.

Just throw on the manifolds then, but it is going to choke down the engine.

i've neve heard of the GT40 Y heads, I do know for a fact that most factory manifolds will not fit on the GT 40 P heads though, I think the P heads are the only ones that present a manifold fitment issue

They will bolt right up!!! Just make sure the ports are the same...IE....oval and oval...not square.

I have some tri Y headers for sale if you are interested.

Thanks guys. This is just temporary. Headers and a crossover are definitley to come when the mulah situation gets better.
Maybe I'll try to port-match the manifolds. Is it worth the effort?
Or maybe try to fit the 5.0 manifolds using some clamps and that flexible exhaust tubing from Pep Boys.
