So I'm going to need larger slicks for 2 reasons. More traction and taller so I'm not in 4th in the 8th mile. Right now I have 26x8.5s and they fit just fine. The car is lowered and the fenderlips are rolled. Can I squeeze in the bigger tires and if so what rim and backspacing do I need.

A weld 15x8 with 6.5" backspacing would tuck real nicely. Just watch out for tailpipe rubbing. A 5.5" will fit on some cars, but if you can get the 6.5's to fit on the inside, then go with them.

Summit suggests 9 inch rims for the 10 inch slicks though, but your all using 8 inchers? I think the stock 99 V6 rims I have are 7 inchers

Hey dartman same here about the squirrel antics. Pissed me off how unstable it was getting in just the 8th. Im pretty sure I need to go to a taller tire like yours because I'm deep into 4th in just the 8th. Hey, how close do your tires fit being 27s because I think I want to do 28s?
