I just hooked a 2g alt up in a carb'd car. The alt isn't charging.
Am I supposed to put a switched 12v to the lt grn/red wire that originally ran to the cluster lamp? Seems I remember reading that the alt wouldn't charge without a 12v signal coming in on that wire.
If you don't use the original dash wiring, put a 500 ohm resistor in series in that switch wire for the alt. The wire originally had this resistor (along with a bulb in parallel) in the circuit.
