I am going to be taking the plunge and be running a vortech V1 pretty soon. I currently have the stock granny gears and was wondering if the power will feel flat before the vortech builds boost or will these gears work nice with a centri?

First of all "granny gears" are super low gears not freeway gears like you have stock. 3.27 gears are for MPGs and that's all. Your best bet IMHO would be 3.73s.

I have 3.73's and a Vortech. Best combination IMO. Your not shifting every 3 seconds like a 4.10 or 4.30 would and your not lagging (I know its only relative to turbo's) like a 3.27 or 3.55 would be. If your worried about your highway MPG's with the Vortech, go 3.55's, but if your not, just go with the 3.73's, you go through gears quickly, but aren't blowing up tires as you would with 4.10's. Hell 3rd gear laying into it I still get sideways at not even 4k RPMs. 4th too

3.73's give you the best bang, because you don't have to get in boost for normal passing or driving as you would with the granny 3.27's...and your not forced to shift every 3 seconds because of the steep gearing..

your going to want to go with 4.10 or even 4.30

i had 4.10's and swapped them for 3.73's because i installed a kenne bell. i miss the 4.10's, it was more fun to drive; however, 435 rwtq at 2600 rpm and 4.10's = 0 traction... 3.73's are alot more tame with my setup. centri's build boost higher in the rpm range, so if you have a set of 3.73 gears its going to take you longer to get into your power band.
