For a daily cruiser, would the difference b/w a 3.27 to a 3.73 gear be worth the cost for installation and parts?

Thanks

YES! It will make quite a noticable change. I went from a 3.08-3.73 and it was very worth while. My old 91 had 3.08's and I went to 3.55's and it was also a very noticeable difference.

A 2800-3200 stall converter will also make a very big difference in performance.

that is one of the most noticeable (seat of the pasts wise) mods you can do.

note that your highway cruising rpms will be higher

note also that the speedo and odometer may end up a little off, even if you get the gear that is supposed to correct for it. this is because of the way adding or removing teeth on the speedo gear changes the speed the speedo gear spins, which is the idea, but the change is often not exactly the same as the change that happens at the rear, so the speedo will be a few MPH off.

at first, i didn't care if my speedo and odometer were off, but as time went on, i cared more.

there is (or at least used to be) a device called a speedcal that you can get that more accurately corrects the speedo if that is important to you.

I realize a change from 2.73 to 3.73 would be huge, but from 3.27 to 3.73 is mathematically only about HALF the difference from 2.73 to 3.73. 3.27 is the middle ground. I am just wondering if that is truely worth the $150 parts, and $200 install.

On a stock AODE that stall range is too high IMHO. Max would be about 2200-2400. Stock is 1800 - 2000. Just so you're clear on stall speeds the best performance is obtained with a converter that has a stall speed slightly higher than the rpm of the engine when it starts to produce its strongest usable power. For the combo in my sig the stall speed is 2400 - 2600 based on my mods.
