3.8 to 5.0 swap IT IS WORTH IT

I just got done converting my 95 v6 to a v8 5sp. I don't know why everyone on here thinks it's not worth it. It's so simple pretty much anyone can do it. The best part is it only cost me $1000 to do the swap can't beat that. I didn't have any problems and it runs great. Also everyone says you need to change the suspension. I didn't and it dropped it not even an inch and it handles great. I don't know why more people don't buy v6 cars and put a 5.0 in them. So much cheaper and plus you will save ALOT on insurance.

Now it's time for gears and exhaust!

tell us more about the swap. how long did it take? what motor did you use? What computer set up are you running?....

I did the swap also very cheaply... if this is the person I think it is he used a 95 donor car he got cheap.....

I got a few questions for ya because I gave up trying to find another donor car after the first one fell through and just bought a gt

1. Did you have to use a v8 k-member or just use the stock v6 one. Ive heard the v6 one can be used.

2. Are you useing the stock rearend.(7.5) If so good luck with it. I heard they are weak but can stil take a pretty good beating.

3. How was installing the wiring harness.

If i could do it I think anyone could. I know I couldn't have done it without SorsCode, Thanks! I started the project Saturday morning and I had the car running Wednesday afternoon. It started the first try! I did use the v6 k-member for the 5sp. They are exactly the same. I have the 7.5 in right now seems to work fine but does spin alot. I'm getting the 8.8 rebuilt and installing gears then that is going in. Installing the wiring harness was easy but yet hard. It was easy because everything was plug and play. Getting the v6 wiring harness out was probably the hardest part.

I bought a wrecked 94 gt with a rebuilt motor for cheap. So i had everything i needed.

Like I told stang here... it was a very simple swap... if you have everything and you are mechincally incline you can do the swap in one day and be driving it that night... But I recommend taking your time... 94-95 Mustangs are the easiest to do the swap.. 96+ take a little extra..
