I am about to buy 3:90 gears for my 96 Cobra. Just a few questions. Will it be a noticably diffrence? What will my R's be at when i am doin like 70 MPH in 5th gear? Should it knock off time on my Quartermile? Thanks for the help guys

This has been covered easlity one hundred times allready. Do a search on the forums here for threads entitled "gears", "4:10s", "ear swap" etc. You'll find all the info you need there, as well as gear caculators that will give you an estimate rpm for any given gearset. Next time do a search before making a new thread

I'll try to answer your questions, your rpms will be around 2400 @70mph. Yes you will notice the difference and it will help on your 1/4 times if you can get the car to hook up.

I have a 96 Cobra and I went from 3.27s to 4.30s and I would recommend nothing else than 4.30s. You would be wasting your money. I have never been to the track and drive my car quite a bit. The rpms are only slightly higher and I still get 20mpg. The car is much more fun to drive also.

well you definetly need no less than 4.10's. If you plan on going supercharged in the future you might want to take the 4.10's over the 4.30's. Sure, the 4.30's will be slightly faster right now, but if you get a blower it will most likely be too much gear. Thats why i picked the 4.10's over the 4.30's because im gonna get a KB so 4.30's are just too much. Also, the 4.10's will be less RPM's on the freeway, not much, but less.

unless for some crazy reason, get the 4:10's, 80 mph right at 3000rpm
