Ha! You beat me to it so I'll raise you another one!

Still Bassani though. Come to think of it, those are the only three inch that I've really ever noticed. I'm sure there are others though.

Brand shouldn't really matter unless you have some off-brand that does their own thing. The header collectors should come out and terminate in the same place if they're built for a Fox.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

thats what i assumed but all brands seem to say "made for bbk longtubes" "made for bassani longtubes" wasnt sure if there were any slight differences

why not?
mostly for the sound, i love the sound of 3" on my friends fox and this setup will be fairly similar. i know 2.5" supposedly makes more power but its not a significant amount from what i understand. just looking to change it up a bit.
if i cant find a 3" setup that i like that isnt going to cost a fortune, ill stick with 2 1/2 and be able to use my current mufflers

most every 3'' header has a different colletor location, i have 2 sets of 3" exhaust right now, my old setup was bassani stepped longtubes, with a bassaini x-pipe that was cut and modified to slip onto the collector, then to dynomax ultraflows with dumps.

The stuff on the car now is the same headers, bassani x with slip on adapters that go on the headers and a bassani catback. this is the easiest way to go but its also 1800 bucks in parts. I got all that used for WAY cheap so i decieded to run it.

My old setup fit better cause it was custom to the car, thats the way to go IMO, you can find big money used longtubes for cheap, then i'd suggest buying a bassani 3" and cutting that and making it work. its worth the effort. FYI, unless u go with a custom to your car header your gonna give up a good ammount of clearance with the 3'' exhaust

Not to hi-jack but....

I would imagine the slip type connectors take up less room than ball or flange type? Ever run into clearance issues the latter types on a long tube?

The slip on is definitly the way to go when putting the x-pipe onto the header in my opinion, the ball flanges are better on the catback side of things

I may soon come into pocession of a set of long-tubes that are NOT Bassani (first aftermarket exhaust piece I've ever bought for my Stang that wasn't Bassani). I'll prolly hit you up when that happens 90lxcoupe.
