So after I took my harmonic balancer off of my 302,(~71) I noticed that the notch on the crankshaft had been damaged. Before I go and replace the timing chain and sprockets and put it back together, I wanted to see if I should worry about this?

-thanks

Is that ridge actually a key? Either way, it could be smoothed with a jeweler’s file before swapping gears.

The slight imperfections in the key will affect nothing. It you want a new key is cheap.
