306 are you happy?

i am going to a 306 soon. i'd like to know if you wish you went with more cubes, different setup or just general stuff like any regrets. setup and times, i'd like to make it into the 12's

You can get into the 12's easily with a nice h/c/i setup and the supporting parts.

Now I'm very happy how my engine turned out, I do wish I would have had more money to go with the bigger cube - 3.25 or 3.4" (5.315" rod), but that was not an option. I was looking for reliability, not power on a budget for longevity.

Do not get the 306 expecting extra power I know I didn't. It is what it is:

A rebuilt 302

With a blower or nitrous you'll split the block before you max it out.

I agree with the previous post: 306 = rebult 302

my 302 was board .030 over making it a 306, and im happy with it...

+2 on the re-built 302 part..

that being said the 5.0 badging on my car is "true" now, and i am happy with mine as well

Do what I did. I built my 306 with a blower in mind down the road. Now that I have the blower it is great.

Im happy with the 306 decision....like everyone said if i didnt need to bore 0.030" i would still be a 302! No difference in power...but in terms of building a very quick reving 5.0....i love it
