I'm planning a whole over haul on my car this spring. Buying parts while it's cold. I'm getting a DSS 331 Stroker with the internals to handle 15-20 PSI of SC. So saying that. I'm definately needing a new rearend setup. I'm pretty good engine and electrical wise. As far as rearends go...Clueless. 31 spline axles seem to be the thing to go with. What else do I need to change out to get these 31 splines to work? Does the driveshaft need to be 31 spline? C-Clip elims. or not? Any advice would be appreciated. Oh yea, I want to leave the tree about 5 grand if that helps with anything. Already have the torque boxes, uppers, lowers, springs, 50/50 rear shocks waiting to go on. Need strong rearend. What diff do ya'll perfer? Detroit, auburn etc. Thanks a lot guys!

I would suggest a 31 Spline Eaton carrier, 31 spline moser/other axles axles, 3" studs, C-clip eliminators, you will need new bearings and some other small parts..

Stock Driveshaft and brakes will still work.....

***Going to a 9" bearing end is really better then a C-clip elimin but it does require more fabbing on the rear end and must be done in a jig made for that purpose, you can get them to work with stock brakes.....***

The type of diff or locker you get depends on how you plan to use the car. If its something of a weekend warrior or drag car, id get a detroit locker or a spool. If its more of a street duty car and DD, id go with Rick on the eaton . Another thing to look out for is the new electro-magnetic diff/locker from Auburn

I give a third vote to eaton. the reason is that they are great units, they are rebuildable and they are strong.
make sure that the eaton youget is for 31 spline axles too. i would get c clip elims, but thats just me.

Check BB&T in the MMFF mag. they run a whole set up special that your looking for. its a good price at $550. im gonna get it.
