31 spline axles vs. 28

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this maybe a dumb question, but is there any difference? i have heard that the 31's are basically bullet proof. i think a 28 with open differential like an Auburn pro would be just fine. what do you guys think?

31's are stronger yes. Most people buy 31's because they track their car alot and usually make big power or run slicks or both. Those kinds of factors are ideal for snapping axles so the beefier 31's are much better. As far as them being bullet proof................that's not entirely true. I've seen a few cars at the track snap 31 spline axles. You can get 33's, 44's, ete, etc. From the mods in your sig, you should have no problem staying with 28's. On the street or on some strip days you should be fine. If you go with a power adder and start running slicks, you might want to consider upgrading to 31's.
