Dont want to start a war here-

seriously considering buying a shortblock from either DSS or CHP. Now i dont know a lot about either. i have heard good things about both but i have to say ive heard more bad on DSS rather than CHP.

I know where you can get a 347 for cheaper than both. Make more power and spend less..What a bargain

No other thoughs... give rick a call tell him what your looking to do with the car and go from there.. For one your buying customer service . with DSS or CHP if you have a problem try calling them at 10pm rick will stay on the phone all night long if you run into trouble even if its some one eles parts. His help after the sale goes way beyond DSS or Chp.

I've had him call me back at 2300 (11pm for you civilians) Also prices are unbeatable as far as labor. Don't know about parts yet seeing as i haven't dealt with him yet, but hopefully the beginning of July will change all that Not gonna name names, or what i paid for my heads/install but i wish i had gone with rick, probably would have saved me ALOT of money lol

- Richard

BTW Rick give me a call

By the time you spend the money on tools and getting the kit, rings, etc...you very well could spend over the "average" price and not know if it will run fine until you turn the key...

Yep. I considered going the DIY route...then realized how much in tools it would be, PLUS my time is valuable (self employed, so if I can work on a client's project instead of an engine, I'd be losing money).

Good luck. Can't go wrong with Rick. But if for some reason you want a "big name", go with CHP - seem very professional and hear nothing but good things on the product (can't speak for their service though).
