I made some real progress today getting the motor assembled. The only thing left really before I drop it in is the flywheel/clutch/bell assembly and distributor.

Soooo I got excited and decided to just drop the carb on and test fit one of the headers:

Hopefully I will get to drop it in and with luck fire it up this week end!!

She's a fine looking engine! If it runs nearly as well as it looks, I'm sure you will be happy.

I think its somewhat of the camera angle, but those were the headers I already had in there, so I know they fit good. They are Hooker Competition, I just sent them out to get jet hot coated.

Looks good Kevin, your going to look at your car in a whole new light after you get that thing in and on the road.

PS - Some may disagree but if I were you I would move your blaster 2 coil over to the side of your engine compartment, they can be susceptible to heat and fail. I'm sure plenty of people run them there but I had one heat up, boil over and fail in that spot and my car didn't run hot at all, may have just been a simple parts failure but I have had a few people tell me that it was wise to move it.

Here is where I moved it

I was thinking about relocating it actually- its kind of on there right now to start decreasing the piles of parts laying everywhere in my garage!
