347 build

I'm putting together a 347 stroker motor and I was wondering which components I should get? I already have the block which is a 88 block bored .30 over. Which pistons, rods, and crank should I get? It's not gonna be an all out race car, but I don't mind high compression. Also, which cam should I get? Also, what kind of horsepower levels should I expect with my twisted wedge heads and my performer intake?

I wouldn't call my turd one of the best. It should do ok though with these junk heads ;)

Trueblue, who ported your TFS heads? A done right ported set of TW heads can do 425-450rwhp (and higher) n/a. Not sure how fast your looking to go, but you might wanna ditch that edelbrock performer and run something better. For a cam, i'd do a custom grind or one of AFM's hi rev cams.

For your rotating assembly, a basic scat 9000 kit will work just fine and it'll most likely come with probe forged pistons. I spent a little extra for probe ultra light rods.

Expensive motor.....

4.050" x 3.400" = 351 CID
Cast steel crankshaft
Good rods
Light pistons
AFR 185's with the 205 program run on them, with a GOOD valve job
2.05/1.60 valves
Solid roller cam
Vic Sr. manifold
1 3/4" into 1 7/8" headers
3" exhaust

Shift around 6700 RPM. Should make ~450+ RWHP.
----------------------------------

Inexpensive motor...

4.000" x 3.400" = 342 CID
Same internals as above
Any smog legal head with 2.02 valves and a little "touch up" work
Hydraulic cam
Holley or RPM II manifold
1 3/4" headers
3" exhaust

Shift anywhere between 6200-6500 RPM. Should make ~420 RWHP.

Have fun! :D
